Concorde® Battery Corporation announces the 2021 dates of its popular IA Renewal Series. Due to pandemic restrictions, the IA Renewal Series has moved to a virtual format and will be accessed on the GoToWebinar® platform. Held over three days, January 21, 22, & 23, 2021, participants choose 2 of the 3 days to attend. Each day is comprised of 4 hours of training. At the end of this training, participants will leave with their 8-hour certificate. There is no charge for participation. A second virtual IA Renewal Series has also been scheduled for March 2021 with information to follow at a later date.

Concorde Battery Corporation is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Platinum Series® Turbine starting lineup, the RG-41/53. This robust 53 Ah AGM battery is TSO-C173a approved and eligible for installation in Piper PA-46-500TP and PA-46-600TP aircraft with FAA STC SA01050DE. The STC approves installation of the RG-41/53 battery in place of Piper Part Number 601-910. It is eligible for use on aircraft registered in the United States and those in Canada under Staff Instruction (SI) 513-003.

7-30-14 Aircraft Battery Capacity Test Adjustment – Concorde Battery Tech Bulletin No. 14
Concorde Battery Corporation`s Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) 5-0171 states that Capacity Check intervals are general recommendations suitable for most applications. The intervals may be adjusted for a specific aircraft or fleet once the average battery life is established. How does one establish the average battery life?
Concorde has released Technical Bulletin No. 14 - “Capacity Check Interval Adjustment” available at www.concordebattery.com. This bulletin gives guidance on how to establish average battery life and adjust capacity test intervals in accordance with that life. Capacity tests are the only accurate means of quantifying a battery`s state of health and verifying airworthiness. A battery capacity of 80% or more is considered airworthy by the FAA and is required in order to supply essential power in the event of an alternator or generator failure. Aircraft that are flown under the same environmental conditions, follow the same operating patterns and are configured with the same electrical systems can extend their capacity test intervals based on previous battery life.

7-29-13 Concorde Battery Discontinues CB (Dry Charged) Battery Line
Concorde’s high standards have resulted in sealed lead acid battery technology that provides more efficiency, more power and more convenience than traditional flooded battery technology. This led to an escalating shift in customer’s preference for a sealed RG® Series battery over the CB flooded battery type. As a result, the decline in flooded battery demand dramatically increased manufacturing costs to produce the CB product line. For years, out of respect to loyal flooded battery customers, Concorde continued to manufacture CB batteries despite decreasing demand and increased costs. As a quality company and after serious consideration, Concorde decided it was in our customer’s best interest to discontinue the CB flooded battery line. This decision was based on the proven superior performance of RG® Series batteries and not wanting to sell an older technology at increased prices.
